The Royal Press Office had this to say today about the “hug” that Michelle Obama gave Queen Elizabeth II: “It was a mutual and spontaneous display of affection and appreciation between the Queen and Michelle Obama,”
Who started this and how did it end up being the news of the day? I suspect it was a Tweet from the RNC which seems to be watching e-v-e-r-y s-i-n-g-l-e m-o-v-e the Obamas make e-v-e-r-y s-i-n-g-l-e d-a-y so they can slowly chip away at their image. Unfortunately, the “liberal media” is all too receptive and willing to spend time covering crap like this because it’s an inexpensive way to fill the 24/7 news cycle – replay that video over and over and over again.

What utter rubbish! (h/t our British friends) I get all the news I need from the web now and from a select few sites, in just a few minutes. The rest is gossip and entertainment.
