Ward Churchill Was Right

The jurors in Ward Churchill’s lawsuit against the University of Colorado agreed that CU “unlawfully fired” him for “expressing his political beliefs.” (A campaign lead, in large part, I might add, by that guy who claims to be looking out for the little folk and for America as a whole, Bill O’Reilly.) The judge will now decide whether CU has to reinstate Churchill or pay him a lump sum of money (or both, I presume).
The powers that be at CU are, of course, horrified.
As Cornel West said, “Success is defined in our society as being well adjusted to injustice.” Thank God for maladjusted jurors. We need more maladjusted people around here.

I am delighted by this news. I watched O’Reilly lead a nightly witch-hunt for Churchill and it enraged me. He did it for the same reason he does everything – ratings and money and ego, not any sense of patriotism or justice. Any nincompoop with half a brain who read the paper in question

could understand what he was saying. O’Reilly chose to deliberatley misrepresent it, (as he did with the Boulder Valley High panel) again and again, to rally his zombies ’round a “cause” and “win.”
Sweet Jesus, I hate Bill O’Reilly!!!
