Three Pittsburgh Policemen Are Dead Because of Right Wing Lies
A gunman in Pittsburgh, “opened fire on officers responding to a domestic disturbance call Saturday, killing three of them.” A friend of the gunman said he feared “the Obama gun ban that’s on the way” and “didn’t like our rights being infringed upon.”
Obama has never, ever advocated banning guns. But, in an attempt to scare people about liberals and Democrats, the right has spread the myth that he has. Three policemen are dead tonight because of lies from the likes of Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity.
I fear this is just the beginning of the killing that will grow out of the hate speech coming from the right.
UPDATE: For example, here are Glenn Beck and the NRA’s Wayne LaPierre just over two weeks ago in a segment captioned, Constitution Under Attack, during which they, “worked themselves into a fine frenzy over President Obama’s eeeeevil plans for taking away Americans’ guns…”
Three Days on, the Huffington Post Catches Up With Me
Me on Thursday. The Huffington Post today.
Meow. I know.
Look in the Mirror
Republicans are aghast (natch) at the pro-gay marriage ruling handed down yesterday by the Iowa Supreme Court. But what they aren’t screaming about is that recent significant rulings liberalizing gay marriage laws, including the one in Iowa, were made by Republican-appointed judges.
Privately, their heads must be spinning. Hee hee.
