George Bush Kisses a (Saudi) Prince
The faked outrage coming from the right about President Obama bowing to a Saudi prince and allegedly mooning America is everywhere. It’s shocking! Shocking, I know.
But that outrage can only be sustained if people forget about, or aren’t reminded of the kiss George W. Bush gave a certain Saudi prince not all that long ago:
And that he held the prince’s hand for crying out loud:
You don’t believe me? Check this out.

Sean Hannity Interviews Joe the Plumber
It’s 9:20 p.m. ET and I’m watching Fox. Sean Hannity is interviewing Joe the fake plumber in Atlanta at a teabagger rally. Behind the two, just below the stage, a woman is holding a sign that reads, “We came unarmed, today.”
Ugh. Makes my heart hurt.
Why Doesn’t Rush Limbaugh Wear a Suit and a Flag Pin?
It’s a ridiculous question, I know, but if Limbaugh is the leader of the Republican party – which, as far as I can tell he is (though Fox is running neck-and-neck) – why does he sit around looking like a sloppy sweat bag in his ever-present polo shirt? I mean, look like a leader, right? That’s a question they’d ask of us “liburals” if the tables were turned so hey, just askin’.

Neil Cavuto Resorts to Lying to Make Fox Look Good
“Fair and balanced” Fox “business news” anchor Neil Cavuto reported from Sacramento, California today. Cavuto was a speaker at the “tea party” there. Insofar as Fox has a big, big dog in this fight in terms of turn-out - it basically put its reputation (such as it is) on the line by promoting “Tea Party Day” – the bigger the crowd the better, right?
Apparently the crowd size in Sacramento wasn’t to Cavuto’s liking, so what to do? Hey, bingo: inflate its size by 300%!
People who resort to lying in order to make themselves look like winners are losers. And the guy’s a Catholic. You’d think lying wouldn’t be such a good thing to do.

The idea that media is there to educate us, or to inform us, is ridiculous because that’s about tenth or eleventh on their list.

2,000 Teabaggers in Denver
The local Denver Channel 4 “news at noon” reported just now that there are “about 2,000″ teabaggers rallying at the Capitol.
In other news, only 200 people showed up in Philly.
A Sane Republican Talks Tea Parties
All protests against spending that do not tell us how to reduce it are fatuous pieces of theater, not constructive acts of politics. And until the right is able to make a constructive and specific argument about how they intend to reduce spending and debt and borrowing, they deserve to be dismissed as performance artists in a desperate search for coherence in an age that has left them bewilderingly behind.
Bravo!
Oh My God
1,500 farmers commit mass suicide in India, “after being driven to debt by crop failure” due to falling water levels.
Overpopulation and global warming, a tragic combination.
