George Bush Kisses a (Saudi) Prince

April 15, 2009 at 9:49 PM 29 comments

The faked outrage coming from the right about President Obama bowing to a Saudi prince and allegedly mooning America is everywhere.  It’s shocking!  Shocking, I know.

But that outrage can only be sustained if people forget about, or aren’t reminded of the kiss George W. Bush gave a certain Saudi prince not all that long ago:

And that he held the prince’s hand for crying out loud:

You don’t believe me?  Check this out.

What is shocking is that you do not know the history of a bow, especially the scraping bow that Obama gave, which is a sign of subjugation and subservience by bearing your neck so that your life is at the mercy of the one you bow to.

Where kissing is a common practice of greeting people in many countries, and holding hands is nothing but a sign of friendship.

Nothing Bush did was a sign of subservience to a foreign ruler.

But you are right, who cares if our sovereign leader is subjugating himself to another sovereign leader.

It’s SHOCKING that I don’t know the history of a bow? Ask 100 people on the street and I’m willing to bet that none of them will know the “history of a bow” either.

    The history of a bow.
    —-
In this day and age I am sure that a bow has nothing to do with the history.

Try and assimilate and you will come up with the nuttiest answer like you have.

Well, if YOU who say that you know the history of bowing would not just note half the truth then maybe your point would be more believable.

In Japan bows are the traditional greeting, but are also a gesture of respect.

In European cultures, apart from stage performers bowing is only done by men who as you suggest are expected to “bow and scrape”. The “scraping” refers to the drawing back of the right leg as you bow and you put your left hand pressed horizontally across the stomach while holding out the right from the body.

So you chose to apply the European history of bowing to an ASIAN leader where it means s/t else. That is bad enough, but then at the same time you use George Bush Jr.’ kissing and holding hands of male Saudi leaders as an example of a common greeting in many other countries. That, my friend is to me an example of dishonesty in trying to make a point.

    Nice photoshopping. It sucks.

Us Americans truly are idiots huh. George Bush, for his second run for president, OPENED the Republican Presidential convention with a homosexual speaker. Bush is gay. Now, I could not care less about Bush’s choosing homosexuality. Cursing his soul by choosing his homosexual lifestly, I could not care less. He’s not be allowed to visit my house unless he had a body condom. But Bush’s curse of America, his intentional destruction of America for the Saudis, well, figure it out. Homosexual sex for muslims, is ok. Even child molesting, like catholic priests, is ok in islam. Well, being ‘gay’ is not ok, but having homosexual sex with men, women, children, you name it, is ‘ok’. but homosexual lifestyles, flaming lifestyles, they are not allowed and they are killed.

Geroge Bush is a traitor. An idiot, so I can’t blame him. His family’s connection with teh Nazis in WWII, also pretty much condemned him to inbreeding. But Republican, if you do not see that the kiss on the lips of the man on a man, is homosexuality, you are one clueless enemy of America. You surrendered yourself to the liberals destroying America. As the Republican Party surrendered. It was not beaten into submissioin, the idiots surrendered their damned souls. You could not pay me to vote for a Republican.

  • 8. Delores  |  September 30, 2010 at 8:57 PM

Did the Republicans forger about this kiss?

  • 9. Say It Ain't So Already  |  September 30, 2010 at 9:07 PM

    Forget?

Yes. They did, with the help of the “liberal media.”

That photo was altered, you doofus! Look close at the prince’s beard! It is different! Someone clipped two photos and put them together in an ‘apparent’ kiss.

    What an OUTRIGHT LIE!

And anyone that believes it is even dumber!

  • [...] But what really gets me about this whole exchange is the bowing issue. Apparently on January 20, 2009, America made a major change in that our President should no longer travel overseas. Every time Obama makes a trip to a foreign country the right starts into their faux outrage mode. That faux outrage is always exacerbated if Obama shows respect by bowing or kissing or showing the traditional form of respect that is part of that country’s culture. This started only two months into the Obama presidency when he bowed before the Saudi King, yet the right never once exhibited the same outrage when George Bush did the same thing or even kiss the Saudi Prince. Bingo!

  • 14. Jim  |  November 23, 2011 at 8:33 PM

That is NOT a kiss, you idiots! That picture was taken just before he hugged the prince!

    What a bunch of idiots!

  • 15. Say It Ain't So Already  |  November 23, 2011 at 8:56 PM

So, hugging the prince is OK but kissing him isn’t?

  • 16. Jennifer  |  March 20, 2012 at 1:42 PM

Let’s see…Obama bows (a sign of respect) to a foreign leader–bad!! Bush kisses the guy and holds his hand–good!!

Obama hangsout with Wm Ayers….a terrorist–BAD!!! Or at least he was 40 years ago before he became a college professor. Bush and Family are long-time friends and business partners of the bin Ladens–GOOD!.

  • 17. Jim Guess  |  March 20, 2012 at 2:23 PM

    Jennifer, Jennifer, Jennifer,

You KNOW that was not a kiss! That picture is doctored! He was shaking the crown prince’s hand and saying something in his ear!

DemoTAXocrats always twist the truth …

    Sigh …

    … and, Jennifer …

  • 19. Jenny Lansing  |  March 21, 2012 at 7:46 PM

Derek, when he wasn’t kissing Saudi Princes, George Bush was holding hands with them — and there are authentic videos proving that. An American man holding hands with another hale and hearty male is “not done” in our country and looks much more strange in the USA than a mere “bow,” doesn’t it?

  • 20. Jenny Lansing  |  March 21, 2012 at 7:48 PM

Jim, so all that kissing and hand-holding between Bush and another grown MAN is just fine with you, but a mere bow — which EVERYBODY does to EVERYBODY in Japan — seems “strange” to you?

  • 21. Jenny Lansing  |  March 21, 2012 at 7:57 PM

Jim, Jim, Jim, I actually saw a VIDEO of Bush kissing a Saudi! Why do you think he invaded IRAQ when nearly ALL of those hijackers slamming into the Towers on 911 were SAUDIS?! Bush kissed and held hands with a MAN because those “customs” are acceptable in the country he was in. Yet double-standard oozing Repubs crazily think everyone else is going to get amnesia right along with them when they goofily try to point fingers over LESSER “infractions!”

  • 22. Jenny Lansing  |  March 21, 2012 at 8:09 PM

Jennifer is right about the Bush/Bin Laden connection. George Bush the Elder even worked with Osama bin Laden’s UNCLE at the Carlisle Group, a company that is, among other things, a DEFENSE CONTRACTOR! When Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney began investigating the connection, over a 100,000 Republicans voted in the DEMOCRATIC Primary in Georgia in order to allow her opponent to win and go onto face a Republican in the general election!!!!!!! Scary stuff. Truly. The cheating, strange Bushes have brought nothing but ruin to this country!

  • 23. Jim Guess  |  March 21, 2012 at 9:21 PM

Poor Jennifer … still can’t get her facts straight …

Watch now. Obama is heading to Cushing, OK and is going to say HE is responsible for the pipeline being built when HE was the one who was fighting it all the way!
    http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/03/21/sullivan-gop-blast-obamas-attempt-for-keystone-credit/

Jennifer, you must have your head in the sand so far, you cannot see truth if it bit you on the A##.

  • 24. Jim Guess  |  March 21, 2012 at 9:23 PM

So, post the video of Bush kissing him! Here is a ‘video’ of Obama saying he was born in Kenya! Do you believe it?

  • 25. Patriot Referer  |  September 1, 2012 at 12:46 PM

It’s ironic how everyone can twist the truth to make it say what thery want it to say. They use “doctored” pictures to “prove” their point (i.e. obama’s three or four birth certificates) yet really don’t have a clue. The media writes and prints what they want and most Americans take it as “fact” rather than checking things for themselves. I’m not a supporter of obama for many reasons–(1) he refuses to salute OUR flag because he doesn’t want to “offend” anyone. (2) he’s not even an American (and that has been proved if you care to check it out). I won’t go into anymore because of the time factor. CHECK FACTS for yourself from other sources rather than from one newspaper or news station.

Repukes are going to keep trying to make something out of fake videos, doctered videos, etc. But, here we have Bush – Obam was being respectful and got nailed by the bigoted racist Repukes for political gain, but, now we know they were Saudi sympathizers! SHAME SHAME SHAME! What goes around comes around – Karma!

  • 27. Jim Guess  |  September 24, 2012 at 9:16 PM

    Total lie.

This has been going around since 2009.

It is a telephoto shot and Bush is not going to kiss the prince. He is moving to hug the prince, a sign of brotherhood between leaders.

If he had kissed the prince, that photo would be plastered all over television.

    Total lie.

    Look at this ‘photo’.

    http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=bush+kisses+saudi+prince &view=detail&id=FE5E8726CB730DFF90BFDB39E6B9AFD74F80C07D&first=1

    It has been completely doctored.

    Total lie.

I don’t believe the pictures have been doctored. Jim Guess needs to stop drinking the koolaid. Please don’t mistake my post as a support for the president, I feel we have been betrayed by both parties. While we fight amongst ourselves over which of the 2 main parties is best our so-called leaders keep conducting business as usual.

I wasn’t happy with the Obama bow, but I was much less happy with the Bush kiss. How Republicans can criticize Obama’s bow and dismiss Bush’s kiss (as photo doctoring) is either ignorance or just plain hypocrisy!

    Nice article.
