On the Day Bush’s Torture Memos Are Released, “Liberal” CNN Highlights Susan Boyle?
Below is a screen shot of CNN’s website as of 10:14 p.m. ET today. Per the wingers, CNN is a “liberal” (or is fascist the new word?) organization whose objective is to make Republicans and, in particular, George Bush, look bad.
Huh?

John Madden – OXOX
Irritating as he could be, I’m going to miss John Madden. He has been my favorite football voice for 30 years.
I’ll never forget the cozy, dark and wintry Sunday nights - chores and errands done, nachos in the oven – when I heard him call a game in the background. All was good. All was peace. Those were the days.
All the best John.
Flour Tortillas, Roasted Chilis and Crema? I’m Game
The more I think about it, this – Soulful Chili Flavor Heats Soft Tacos – sounds delicious.
Fox News’ Initial Coverage of the Release of Bush’s Torture Memos
Here is a screen shot of Fox’s website as of 7:30 p.m. ET today:

And here are the two articles about “waterboarders” and “interrogation” that Fox references:
“No Charges for Waterboarders, and “Ex-CIA Chief Slams Release of Interrogation Memos.”
Typical. Waterboarders and interrogators, as in the Commader in Chief, George Bush, who authorized it and then lied to the world three years on: “we do not torture,” are held harmless. The Obama administration is the wrong-doer.
Bush Torture Memos
This morning the Obama administration released (thank you, thank you) four memos used by the Bush administration to justify torture (in our name). They can be found here.
The wonderful Glenn Greenwald is, in my opinion, the preeminent lawyer writing about this issue. His early post on these documents is here (scroll down – he began writing his post before the memos were released). Greenwald says the memos are,
…unbelievably ugly and grotesque and conclusively demonstrate the sadistic criminality that consumed our government.
And here is a petition directed to Attorney General Eric Holder to take this very, very seriously and to appoint a Special Prosecutor to take it to the next step.
George, Dick, et al. – those bastards. They should rot in hell for not only doing this but for lying to the world about how they weren’t. Thank God light is starting to penetrate the deep darkness of the last eight years.
Some of the Most Outrageously Biased Conservative Propagandists Gather to Bestow “Dishonors” on Liberal Media Figures
I was channel surfing earlier today and just happened to land on C-Span which was airing video of the Media Research Center’s “2008 Gala” held on March 19. During the “gala,” billed as “roasting the most outrageously biased liberal reporters,” the MRC bestowed its yearly “Dishonors Awards.”
The winners were selected by a distinguished panel of ten leading media observers, including Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Tony Blankley, Larry Kudlow, Cal Thomas, Walter E. Williams and Kate O’Beirne.
For example, Joe the Plumber accepted on behalf of Bill Maher (Bill Maher is a “reporter”?), who won for “Quote of the Year.” (Geez. What a Jack of all trades ol’ Joe is. Now he’s an expert on the media too?) They also honored Brit Hume with the MRC’s third annual “William F. Buckley Award for Media Excellence.” Gag me. See the 1,680 Brit Hume posts at my alma mater, News Hounds, for more on why that’s a laugh.
See more (including video clips) at the link above.
Surely they don’t take themselves or this “gala” seriously, huh?
Jesse Watters, a Producer at The O’Reilly Factor, is a Big Bad Chicken
Jesse Watters is a big bad producer at “The O’Reilly Factor” who puffs up his chest and stalks and ambushes people on behalf his, ahem, “fair and balanced” boss. However, when he comes out from behind the mic and camera, Watters is obviously a rather meek and wimpy guy. Here’s why.
Doug Lamborn (R-CO): Blue Ribbon Hypocrite
Colorado Republican congressman Doug Lamborn (his district includes Colorado Springs), leads the seven-member Colorado congressional delegation in “pork barrel” spending. That according to the newly released Citizens Against Government Waste’s “Pig Book.”
According to the Colorado Springs Gazette, the “Pig Book” shows that,
…Lamborn’s earmarks for the fiscal year that began in October totalling $21.73 million, easily surpassing the $13.37 million total of Democratic Rep. John Salazar.
On the other end of the Colorado list were Reps. Mark Udall and Marilyn Musgrave, who each had zero. Udall is now in the Senate and Musgrave was voted out of office.
That article was posted on April 14. Yesterday, April 15, Lamborn had the gall to show his face at the “tea party” held in Colorado Springs and to say this:
It should be that there’s a lot of Americans on both sides of the aisle who are concerned about the heavy spending and heavy taxation. It’s Democrats and Republicans alike.
I’m sure the crowd cheered.
