Newt Gingrich’s New Online Shrine – “Gingrich Productions”
Check out the “About Newt Gingrich” section. OMG. He loves himself! Sigh. And he’s working on a documentary that is sure to be a flop: Ronald Reagan: Rendezvous with Destiny.
Oh, and surprise, surprise! His bio has been sanitized. There’s no mention of his first two wives. Gosh.
Frank Rich: The GOP Has Lost the War on Gays
Money quote:
Iowa and Vermont were the tipping point because they struck down the right’s two major arguments against marriage equality. The unanimous ruling of the seven-member Iowa Supreme Court proved that the issue is not merely a bicoastal fad. The decision, written by Mark Cady, a Republican appointee, was particularly articulate in explaining that a state’s legalization of same-sex marriage has no effect on marriage as practiced by religions. “The only difference,” the judge wrote, is that “civil marriage will now take on a new meaning that reflects a more complete understanding of equal protection of the law.”
I agree. One day soon, my brother will free.

Everything has its wonders, even darkness and silence, and I learn, whatever state I may be in, therein to be content.

(Helen Keller was both deaf and blind. Imagine what that must be like.)
Rupert Murdoch Hopes to Profit Off of Workers Turning Against Each Other
The Rupert Murdoch-owned Fox network appeared to be caught off guard this week, “by anger over ‘Someone’s Gotta Go,’ its forthcoming reality show about the employees of small offices who are told to choose a colleague to fire.”
I’m head-slapping – WHERE ARE WE GOING HERE!? – speechless.

Don Henley – My Man!
Singer and musician Don Henley is suing California Republican Charles DeVore, a candidate for the U.S. Senate, claiming he is using two popular Henley songs, without Henley’s permission, in his campaign to unseat Barbara Boxer.
You go Don!
Don’t mess with Don Henley. He agreed, gratis, to let Robert Greenwald use his still-relevant 1982 song, “Dirty Laundry,” in Greenwald’s documentary, Outfoxed: Rupert Murdoch’s War on Journalism because Henley despises Murdoch. He’s not one to take kindly to people using his songs to smear Democrats without his permission. Then again, Republicans seem to have a habit of doing just that:
Foo Fighters Demand McCain Stop Using Their Music.
Mellencamp Asks McCain to Stop Using Tunes.
John McCain Keeps Using Songs Without Permission.
Bon Jovi Mad About Sarah Palin Using His Song.
Aren’t there any conservative singers/musicians they can steal from or do Democrats and progressives have all the good songs? Guess so. Hee hee.
