Don Henley – My Man!
April 18, 2009 at 8:18 PM Leave a comment
Singer and musician Don Henley is suing California Republican Charles DeVore, a candidate for the U.S. Senate, claiming he is using two popular Henley songs, without Henley’s permission, in his campaign to unseat Barbara Boxer.
You go Don!
Don’t mess with Don Henley. He agreed, gratis, to let Robert Greenwald use his still-relevant 1982 song, “Dirty Laundry,” in Greenwald’s documentary, Outfoxed: Rupert Murdoch’s War on Journalism because Henley despises Murdoch. He’s not one to take kindly to people using his songs to smear Democrats without his permission. Then again, Republicans seem to have a habit of doing just that:
Foo Fighters Demand McCain Stop Using Their Music.
Mellencamp Asks McCain to Stop Using Tunes.
John McCain Keeps Using Songs Without Permission.
Bon Jovi Mad About Sarah Palin Using His Song.
Aren’t there any conservative singers/musicians they can steal from or do Democrats and progressives have all the good songs? Guess so. Hee hee.
