Karl Rove’s Media Availability
Look at the tweets Karl Rove sent out over the last few days re his media availability.
Where would the guy be if weren’t for Fox?
Note to the “Liberal Media:” Dick Cheney is the FORMER Vice President
All day long — on radio and television — I’ve heard Dick Cheney referred to as “vice president Dick Cheney.” Hello. Joe Biden is the vice president. Dick Cheney is the FORMER vice president.
I know. It’s easy to make this, ahem, mistake when you take your copy directly from talking points sent from Cheney’s office, but STOP IT ALREADY.
Roofs as Gardens
I had a dentist appointment this afternoon (no cavities, no oral cancer). While waiting to be called to The Chair, I leafed through the May, 2009 issue of the National Geographic magazine and came across this articled titled, “Green Roofs.” It’s about how the roof tops of buildings in cities around the world are being transformed from ugly dark oasises of asphalt into glorious gardens, both ornamental and vegetable. Here’s the gallery of photographs that accompanied the article.
Since I expected to be called at any moment, I didn’t read much of the text but one thing I did learn is that in Switzerland, it’s mandatory that foliage be planted on all new, flat roofs. Pretty cool. (Oops, never mind, we can’t have that, because that would be socialism or communism or something like that, right?)
Anyway, enjoy.
Would You Want Cheney to be in Charge if an Asteroid Was About to Hit the Earth?
This guy thinks most, if not all of us would.
The Real RNC
I disagree with Howard Fineman here insofar as I don’t think Rush, Newt or Dick have the standing that he thinks they have (he should get out of D.C. more often), but this is darn clever: The Republican National Committee = “(R)ush-(N)ewt-(C)heney.”
Summary of Cheney’s Speech
9/11. (He said it 25 times.) Be afraid.
Does Pat Buchanan Live at MSNBC HQ?
Pat Buchanan is one of the spinners MSNBC has on this morning to “critiquing” President Obama’s speech on Gitmo. Seems that every time I turn MSNBC on during the day, Buchanan’s face is staring back at me. Does the guy like, live at MSNBC headquarters? Does he sleep on a cot in the breakroom or something?
They would really freshen that place up if they had him on a whole lot less. Or better yet, if they retired him altogether.
Andrea Mitchell Spins for Dick Cheney
I’m watching MSNBC in the minutes before President Obama gives his speech about what to do about Gitmo. Andrea Mitchell and Chris Matthews (aka Tweetie) are on. They’re talking about the President’s speech and the one Dick Cheney has — in true asshole fashion — scheduled for immediately after. Tweetie is calling this “a debate,” and Mitchell says Cheney isn’t doing this for political reasons but because “he truly believes America is less safe” going Obama’s route.
Cheney doesn’t do anything for reasons other than politics, imho. And, is Andrea a journalist or a psychologist?
