Tell Us Something New Newt
Can’t wait to read Newt’s tweets about Obama’s visit to the death camps tomorrow. He’ll probably scream if Obama doesn’t break down and cry. Compare and contrast what happens to what Newt did last week and note Newt’s detatched, dismissive reaction to Auschwitz, which he visited 14 days ago.

I watch Keith Olbermann as often as I can but you know, his show is starting to feel old. I’m so tired of seeing the same faces day after day, like Howard Fineman, Chris Cillizza and Eugene Robinson (all of whom were on today).
There are so many dynamic, creative, good thinkers and writers out there. Yo Keith, drop the has-beens or at the very least, add some spice to the mix.
Gawd. He’s using the same Rolodex NBC has been using for three, five, eight, ten years now.

ABC Invites Sean Hannity on to Comment About Obama’s Speech?!
A few minutes ago I was sitting on my deck enjoying the early evening with my husband when I heard that Sean Hannity was on Good Morning American today to opine about Obama’s speech. I tell you, I almost sprayed my rum and coke all over the dogs.
ABC — part of the mythical “liberal media” – invited Sean Hannity — a glorified shock jock who ready has his own television and radio show — on to talk foreign policy and world affairs?!
What, nobody else was available? My God. I better quit now. I’m so furious I can’t type.

I’m a fan of Jordan’s Queen Rania. She’s beautiful, smart, modern and progressive and she lives in an area of the world that needs a strong female role model. I check her tweets now and then, as I did today to see if she wrote anything about Obama’s Cairo speech. Here’s what she wrote:

Throw the Book at Countrywide’s Angelo Mozilo
Both the Wall Street Journal and CNBC are reporting that the SEC will charge Angelo Mozilo, the former chairman and CEO of Countrywide Financial, with insider trading.
Good! Countrywide’s pyramid mortgage schemes played a part in the financial mess we’re in so someone there should be charged with something. And on a personal note, Mozilo was a frequent guest on Your World w/Neil Cavuto during the years I monitored that show and he is one of the most arrogant, self-important SOB’s you’ll ever meet.
I Hope Nancy Pelosi Makes Sure This Happens
Yesterday Nancy Pelosi wrote a letter directing that “the Chief Administrative Officer’s office begin to publish the quarterly Statement of Disbursements for the House of Representatives in an online format at the earliest date.”
This could be in response to the scandel over expenses that is rocking the British government but hey, no matter what the genesis, it should have been done years ago. Follow up and make it happen Nancy! I’d love to see what these guys are billing us for.
Gay Penguin Couple Doing Great Job Raising Adopted Baby Chick
This is a wonderful story from the BBC about two gay penguins who were given a penguin egg that was rejected by its straight, biological parents, and who are now doing a wonderful job raising the chick, which is about four weeks old.
No word on whether the “marriages” of the straight penguins are falling apart because of the “special rights” granted to this gay couple.
Fox News and Reality
We know Fox “News” has a problem with the truth but usually, when they tell Really Big Lies and get caught, they blame the “mistake” on some lowly producer in a dark room down in the basement. Not anymore. They’re crowing the lies from the rooftops now.
Oh, and there’s this too.
This kind of blatant, in-your-face, lying-sack-of-shit stuff used to only happen occasionally (I know — I spent five years here) with the emphasis instead on a relatively subtle spin that left the viewer wondering what the hell just happened, but with a clear sense of who or what is good (Republicans) or bad (Democrats). They’re putting the petal to the metal now.
