Newt Gingrich Says He’s Proud to be a “Republican Activist”

Speaking at tonight’s GOP fundraiser, Newt said he’s proud to be a “Republican activist.”  Ooooh!  So being an activist is now a good thing?  (Insofar as the messages coming from the GOP change from day to day, I’m just askin’.)

Newt Isn’t Using a Teleprompter

I’m watching Newt Gingrich’s much-heralded speech tonight at the GOP’s big fundraiser and, natch, he isn’t using a teleprompter.  Per the wingers, teleprompters are for wimps, like President Obama.  As a result, Newt’s looking down at his printed text almost continuously.

Looks bad but he’s proving how tough he is, heh?

No Audience Enthusiasm for Newt’s Speech

I’m watching Newt Gingrich’s Republican fundraiser speech and the audience looks totally bored.  No enthusiasm. Very lackluster response.

Time to Refresh Our Memory As to the Number of Vacation Days George W. Took

The right is having a fit about President Obama going on his second date night, something he and Michelle did while in Paris over the weekend.  The guy has been in office a little more than four months, he’s gone on two — count ‘em two — date nights, and the wingnutO’sphere thinks that’s outrageous:

2nd Obama Vacation Day 6-8

So let’s refresh our memory: As of August, 2003, roughly 2.5 years into his presidency, George W. Bush:

…spent all or part of 166 days…at his Crawford, Texas, ranch or en route.  Add the time spent at or en route to the presidential retreat of Camp David and at the Bush family estate in Kennebunkport, Maine, and Bush [took] 250 days off as of August, 2003.

W. took,

62.4 vacation days a year — a little more than 12 work weeks,

which averages out to three weeks per quarter.  If Obama were to keep pace with W., he wouldn’t have gone on two measly date nights, he’d have taken three weeks off by now.

So as always, don’t believe anything these bastards say.

Fox’s Chris Wallace Lets Richard Shelby Tell a Big Lie

Senator Richard Shelby (R-Al) was on Fox News Sunday yesterday talking about Obama leading us down a road toward socialism and he said, get this, that Obama bailed out the banks last fall.  Shelby was face-to-face with Chris Wallace, Fox’s head honcho political sycophant, ahem, “journalist,” but Wallace didn’t say a thing, you know, for the sake of, oh, accuracy?

Here’s video:

Lanny Davis is Blogging at NewsMax

Prominent “liberal,” Lanny Davis is blogging at NewsMax.

I always thought the guy was a conservative at heart, I just didn’t know HOW conservative.  Now I do.

I’m Getting Whiplash

I thought Sarah Palin was “the future of the GOP.”  Oops.  Not today (maybe tomorrow).  Looks like it might be Newt.  They do need a “fresh face” after all.  Then again, what about Eric Cantor (see below) who is now MIA?  I can’t keep it straight and it looks like they can’t either.

Quote of the Day

Dreams come true.  Without that possibility, nature would not incite us to have them.
