CBS News – Sunday Headliner in Denver
My local CBS channel led tonight’s 10:00 p.m evening “news” with a story about a little girl who drowned (but didn’t – she’s fine).
Per “CBS News,” that’s the big stoy in these parts.
Good night.
CNN – Don’t Treat Us Like Children!
CNN is airing video from Iran tonight but they’re interpreting the audio without letting us hear it.
Let us hear it! We don’t necessarily need to know what the words are. We can glean a lot from the tone of the voices.
Fine, add your interpretation if you want, but air the fucking audio so we can hear it and judge it for ourselves. Don’t treat us like children!
Them, and The Rest of Us
The them would be Wall Street, specifically, Goldman Sachs:
Staff at Goldman Sachs can look forward to the biggest bonus payouts in the firm’s 140-year history after a spectacular first half of the year, sparking concern that the big investment banks which survived the credit crunch will derail financial regulation reforms.
This is obscene.
The Oppressors in Iran Take a Cue from Bush
Nico Pitney at the Huffington Post is live-blogging the evens in Iran. Today (@10:35 a.m) he reports that there has been “another shift in state TV” – they’re “calling the protesters terrorists.”
Incomprehensible
Here is a graphic (click to enlarge) comparing our solar system to the rest of what’s out there.
We ain’t nothing! We’re ants.
The Fox News’ Chyron Palooza
Insofar as Fox is devoting so much time to propaganda these days (i.e., was Obama born in the U.S. of A?), it has to squeeze “news” in somewhere in order to appear legitimate. So, voila , what does it do? Chyrons, chyrons, chyrons.
Imagine this as video, the text moving right to left while simultaneously the “Fox News Channel” and “Uprising in Iran” logos twirl around:

Pretty soon there won’t be room on the screen for the guest.
By the way — what would your brain pay attention to? The graphics? The guest? Or, none of the above — I’d zone-out? I’d love to know.
