Shannyn Moore Dares Sarah Palin to Sue Her — You Go Girl!

Shannyn Moore, the “liberal blogger” Sarah Palin has it in for, held a press conference today in response to the Gestapo tactics Palin is using to try to shut her up.  I didn’t see the presser  — hey, I live in the lower 48 and down here it’s all about Michael Jackson and brain-numbing reruns — but here is Moore’s cut-to-the-quick press release.  The money quote:

Sarah Palin is a coward and a bully.  What kind of politician attacks an ordinary American on the Fourth of July for speaking her mind?  What’s wrong with her?  The First Amendment was designed to protect people like me from the likes of people like her.  Our American Revolution got rid of kings.  And queens, too.  Am I jacked-up? You betcha.

Sarah Palin, if you have a problem with me, then sue me.  Shannyn Moore will not be muzzled!

Exactamundo.  Also.

If Israel Attacks Iran, We Attack Iran

Vice President Joe Biden said today on ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulus, that it was up to the Israeli government to decide if Iran constituted an existential threat and that the nation was “entitled” to launch a military strike against Iran if it wanted to.

This year alone, the Obama administration is requesting $2.775 billion dollars in military aid to Israel.  The U.S. provides Israel with warplanes, bombs, guns, tech support and military training.  If Israel bombs Iran, we will be as culpable as it, and the whole world will know it.  (Well, Americans might not know it because our media doesn’t report these kinds of things.)

We hold Israel’s purse strings and we can keep an attack from happening.  Or not.  Looks like or not is the way it’s gonna go.

Sarah Palin as Professional Victim

Today Philip Rucker of the Washington Post writes in an article titled, “Weary Palin Sought to Regain Control,” that:

Yet Palin’s vulnerability masks her firepower, ambition and strong will, advisers said. Not one to fit comfortably into convention – and not comfortable being a victim, either — Palin spoke Friday as if she was rolling the dice and betting on herself. She presented herself as a game-changer stepping onto a stage of her own making.

What?  Where has this Rucker guy been for the last 10 months?  Sarah Palin thrives on being a victim.  It’s the basis for her whole persona.

Tea Party People Express Their Love of Socialism

At a Tea Party in Austin, Texas yesterday, Governor Rick Perry, “drew scattered boos, notably from crowd members aware of his advocacy of toll roads to relieve traffic congestion.”

So the drown-the-government-in-a-bathtub people want “Socialist” government funding to foot the bill?  Would someone please explain?

Tea Party Bomb

Tea Party organizers predicted that the rally in Dallas yesterday would be the largest in the nation — 50,000 strong.  Alas, only a “smattering” of people attended.

Fizzzzzz.

Sarah Palin — Republican Hypocrite Du Jour

On Saturday, Sarah Palin’s lawyer threatened to sue mainstream media outlets and an Alaskan blogger for publishing “defamatory” stories.  I am so sick of wingers who dish it out — Obama is “palling around with terrorists” — but can’t take it when the tables are turned.

Sarah Palin’s Illusions of Grandeur

My take on what Sarah Palin’s up to is this:  I suspect that — particularly over the last several weeks, during the Letterman joke fiasco and the release of the Vanity Fair article — Sarah Palin has received thousands of supportive emails.  Chances are good that they urge her “not to take it” from the “liberal media” anymore and to stand up and fight the “socialist” (or “communist” or “Muslim”) establishment.  The establishment that was treating Palin — the righteous, patriotic, goddess-mother with nothing but concern for the little people in her heart — so unfairly.  What “they were doing to” Palin was a symptom of all that is wrong with the country and the authors of those emails undoubtedly urged her to stand up and fight for herself, for them, and FOR AMERICA!

I believe she resigned in order to form some sort of PAC or even a third party and that she intends to do just that.   I believe she thinks she has enough supporters out there to make it a viable, competitive movement; that she’ll draw in the Tea Partiers and the PUMAs (and maybe she will) and millions more.

This part of Friday’s resignation speech essentially says that:

And one chooses how to react to circumstances. You can choose to engage in things that tear down, or build up. I choose to work very hard on a path for fruitfulness and productivity. I choose NOT to tear down and waste precious time; but to build UP this state and our country, and her industrious, generous, patriotic, free people!

Life is too short to compromise time and resources… it may be tempting and more comfortable to just keep your head down, plod along, and appease those who demand: “Sit down and shut up”, but that’s the worthless, easy path; that’s a quitter’s way out. And a problem in our country today is apathy. It would be apathetic to just hunker down and “go with the flow”.

Nah, only dead fish “go with the flow”.

No. Productive, fulfilled people determine where to put their efforts, choosing to wisely utilize precious time… to BUILD UP.

And there is such a need to BUILD up and FIGHT for our state and our country. I choose to FIGHT for it! And I’ll work hard for others who still believe in free enterprise and smaller government; strong national security for our country and support for our troops; energy independence; and for those who will protect freedom and equality and LIFE… I’ll work for and campaign for those PROUD to be American, and those who are INSPIRED by our ideals and won’t deride them.

And then she posted this on her Facebook page on Saturday:

In her Facebook posting, Mrs Palin said she urged Americans to “join me” in looking how “we can advance this country together with our values of less government intervention, greater energy independence, stronger national security, and much-needed fiscal restraint”.

“Now is the time to rebuild and help our nation achieve greatness!” she wrote.

So, we will see of course but I think, insofar as she has isolated herself inside a group of like-minded thinkers, she has some illusions and delusions as to how many people support her and her ideas.

I can’t wait to see what happens next.
