I clicked around just now and happened upon QVC, which I watch sometimes when I want flat brainwaves. They’re hawking (fake) “diamond studs” at “three easy payments of $12.00 each” (not counting shipping and handling which probably roughly doubles the price).
Add it up.
Go to Target. Buy cheapo “diamond studs” there for $4.00.
President Obama has thus far broken several campaign promises that I counted on him to keep. Single payer health insurance was one of them, but even that seems to be melting away. I’m going to wait until next Wednesday to see what he says about that but I’m on the verge of being sick and tired of being sick and tired of hoping for anything from Democrats.
As aNews Hound blogger for five years, I watched Democrats cave to the Swift Boaters. I watched them vote for virtually every single Bush initiative. The right got what it wanted and Democrats sat on the sidelines and acted like victims.
Enough.
As Thom Hartmann said today, Wednesday will be the make or break day for Obama — not on health care — but “on his presidency.” Amen. Wednesday’s speech to the joint session of congress is a make or break day for me.
Tom Tancredo is on The Ed Show right now saying that Obama is the “most liberal president” we’ve ever had, as if that’s just a terrible, awful thing. I wish Ed Schultz would fire back something about how that’s just tough — he was elected by a big margin so live with it a-hole. You had your turn.
