Ask South Carolina Congressman Joe Wilson to Retract His “You Lie” Outburst

During President Obama’s speech to Congress tonight South Carolina Congressman Joe Wilson (R) yelled “you lie” when Obama said his plan would not provide medical care to immigrants, which is true. Wilson is the liar. Go here to help Wilson accept responsibility for his actions (Repubs are all for that, right?) and to admit that he’s wrong, or that he’s the liar.

NO GOVERNMENT representative should be allowed to disrepect the President of the United States. Mr. Wilson should step down before he is blown down. Never in the history has a political party stupped to such lows. Republicans should apologize and ask for Mr. Wilson’s resignation.

This was NOT a state of the union address. This was a scripted and choreographed POLTICAL EVENT. Why should the Republicans not dissent? Why should they sit there like prisoners with hands folded and lips sealed and listen to this lying socialist. It is Obama that has bastardized this process and this institution. No other president would have the audacity to invoke this sense of pre-eminence over members of an equal branch of government.
Obama was in the House of Representatives, not the White House for his political charade. God bless Joe Wilson.

Oh God. Where to start? I agree that Republicans AND DEMOCRATS should dissent but how would you have felt if Democrats “dissented” (i.e., called him a liar) when Bush talked about invading Iraq?
Based on what you write, that would have been okay too, right?
