Rush Limbaugh: Obama as “This Little Boy”

Or, more explicitly, “[T]his little man-child president.”

That on the same day we learned that Limbaugh fave  George W. made $100,000 for a  28-minute “motivational speech” during which he talked about picking out a rug for the Oval Office and scooping up Barney’s poop.  Now you tell me who’s the “little boy.”

Makes me want to take my head off and set it down for a while; to take a break from the insanity that’s gripping our country.

Yo, Ron Wyden — I’m a Citizen not a “Consumer”

Ron Widen (D-OR) is on Olbermann right now talking about how he wants to support a health care bill that helps “the consumer.”  I AM SO SICK of being called a “consumer.”  It’s so Wall Street, corporate-centric.  I’m a citizen, dammit.

The GOP Civil War Escalates

Remember when Newt Gingrich was the King of the Republican party and he seemed like such a radical?  Those were the days, huh?

Now the GOP extremists — Beck, et al. — are attacking him for endorsing a moderate Republican running for a state seat in New York and old Newt is appearing rather sane when compared to the new radicals in his party.  How things change in 13, 14 years.

Joe Lieberman to Go With the GOP on Health Care?

Joe Lieberman (I-Cigna) said today he will filibuster the health care bill because it contains a public option.  Gee.  I wonder if this has anything to do with his decision: In Bed with Big Pharma:  Hadassah Lieberman worked for a powerhouse lobbying firm.  Were her clients’ special interests being served by her husband?

What the hell was Harry Reid thinking (hint:  either he wasn’t or he thinks we’re all really dumb) when he said this about old Joe:  “Joe Lieberman is not some right-wing nutcase.  Joe Lieberman is one of the most progressive people ever to come from the State of Connecticut.”

Swimming Up Stream

I remember back in the day when the Equal Rights Amendment was making the rounds amongst the states.  I prayed that it would pass.   Call me crazy but I thought paying men and women the same amount of money for doing the same work was the right thing to do.  Alas, the amendment failed and here we are, nearly 30 years later reading headlines like this:

Female chief executives earned just 58 percent of what their male counterparts did in 2008, and their compensation packages were slashed three times as much as their male peers, according to a survey released on Monday.

It’s a Small World

I thought our 1,100 sq. ft. home was small, but that’s nothing compared to this 280 sq. ft. apartment in Paris.

Living in  a small place makes you think about everything you buy and about whether you really want to keep that such-and-such you never use or wear.

Tom DeLay’s in the News Again

He has signed on to the television show, Who Wants to be a Millionaire.

He reminds me of the “Balloon Dad” — he has no qualms about doing stupid stuff in order to get attention.

George W. Raking it in on the Lecture Circuit

How does $100,000 for a 28 minute speech sound to you?  (Oh, and get this insanity:   He focused on “lighter topics such as picking out a rug design for the Oval Office that reflected his ‘optimism.’”)

For Future Reference

If Robert F. McDonnell, the Republican candidate for governor in Virginia wins the election next week, the lazy “liberal media” will undoubtedly adopt the GOP meme that his victory was a rejection of Barack Obama and his “socialist policies.”  However, a new poll shows that Obama isn’t playing a significant role in the race at all.

I Thought C-Span Was Supposed to be Neutral

I swear:  I’ve turned to C-Span every morning for the last six or seven days and every day the guest has been a conservative.
