Fox News Readies the Victim Meme for the GOP in N.J. Governor Race

New Jersey will elect a new governor tomorrow. Polls show that the race is essentially tied between incumbent Jon Corzine, a Democrat, and the Republican, Chris Christie.
Also on the ballot tomorrow is the race for governor in Virginia between Democrat Creigh Deeds and Republican Bob McDonnell, and the New York State House race between Democrat Bill Owens and Republican Doug Hoffman. The Republican candidate is solidly ahead in both Virginia and New York, but again, in New Jersey, the two candidates are neck-and-neck. Republicans are drooling at the thought of all three of their candidates winning because they want to use those victories to pound the table and claim that the results are a referendum against President Obama and all he stands for.
So what do you do if the tight race in N.J. doesn’t go your way? You do what all good Republicans do; you play the victim and you get your media arm, Fox “News,” to help you:
