Watching the Health Care “Debate” on C-Span

I’ve been watching the health care “debate” on C-Span all afternoon and evening (off and on while doing other things). About an hour and a half ago Michele Bachmann took the floor and talked for roughly 30 seconds, ending with: “If we do nothing else tonight, let’s choose life.” That was about the issue of whether or not abortions — which, by the way are LEGAL — should be covered. (I wonder if Viagra and/or penile implants are covered.)
Steny Hoyer talked about a 12-year-old boy who had an infected tooth that would have cost roughly $80.00 to treat, but his family couldn’t afford it. The infection ultimately spread to his brain and after a month in the hospital at a cost of $200,000, the boy died.
So what exactly does “choose life” mean around here?
Meanwhile, I don’t think there will be a vote tonight so I’m done. I can’t stand to watch that idiot winger John Bonehead anymore. If he doesn’t know the difference between the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence I don’t figure he knows much of anything.
Oh, but one think I do know: I think it would literally be torture to be in congress. How they can can stand to move at such a glacial pace is beyond me. It would drive me CRAZY.
