Tim Pawlenty and Fox News Porn
Last night, Tim Pawlenty, the evangelical Christian governor of Minnesota who is considered a front-runner for the GOP presidential nomination in 2012, told attendees at a GOP fundraiser that he thanks the Lord for his “red-hot smokin’ wife.”
When I heard that the only thing I could think of was Fox News Porn. You know, hypocrisy, hypocrisy, hypocrisy.
Gearing Up for the New Week — Making Lemon Bars

Cooking gives me flat brainwaves which I need after last week and which I’ll need going into this week.
Yum. Can’t wait to eat one (or two or three) with a big glass of milk!
You’re Kidding — Toilet Paper With Lotion?
. Mr. SayItAin’tSoAlready usually does the grocery shopping but he wanted to rake leaves in the backyard today so I went instead. Couldn’t believe it when I saw a display of toilet paper with lotion?
Expect an epidemic of people with zits on their butts. (And my God. We are so spoiled! We already have really, really soft toilet paper. What do they use in the Amazon or in Africa or China or Siberia? Not only that, but I’m willing to bet that the chemicals in the “lotion” aren’t regulated. The chemicals in cosmetics aren’t, so it would stand to reason that the “lotion” in toilet paper isn’t either. So thirty years from now we have an epidemic of anal cancer? And how does this evolve? Will toilet paper with hemorrhoid cream be next big thing? (Hey, I should patent that.))
Oh, and BTW, I couldn’t believe how much Christmas stuff was on display. Is it Christmas already? (Oh God. I shouldn’t have said that. Someone’s going to accuse me of starting a war –on you know what.)
The Health Care Fight Moves On to the Senate — Democrats, Listen Up
Okay, so now the health care fight moves on to the Senate. That battle will be verrrry interesting, especially in light of recent polling that shows some of the major Democratic players had better listen to their constituents:

Reaction to Lone GOP Supporter of House Health Care Bill
Looks like people either love or hate Rep. Anh Joseph Cao (R-LA) for siding with the Democrats last night and voting in favor of the House health care bill. The tweets to him at GovLov are pretty interesting. Lots of complements but lots of anger too.
I didn’t see any tweets questioning his birthplace but it’s probably just a matter of time.
Geraldo Rivera Acts Dumb – Doesn’t Remember That AARP Endorsed House Bill
I just watched Geraldo Rivera say he couldn’t remember whether the AARP endorsed the House health care reform bill that passed minutes ago. His cohort, Molly Henneberg couldn’t remember either. Gosh golly gee. What a surprise.
This from Thursday @FoxNews.com:
President Obama cited the endorsement of the influential AMA, along with AARP’s, in a surprise appearance Thursday in the White House briefing room as he attempted to beat back criticism that the bill would gut Medicare.
Are they that dumb or do they think we are (the latter)?
(Posted at 12:15 a.m. ET/November 8. I’m trying to figure out how to automatically add a time stamp to my posts. This will have to do until then.)
Bipartisan Health Care Bill Passes the House
The Democratic health care bill passed the House tonight by a vote of 220 to 215. One brave Republican — can’t confirm it yet but I think it was Anh “Joseph Cao of Louisiana — went rouge and voted with the Democrats.
Woohoo! We’re bipartisan! (I say sarcastically.)
64 Democratic House Seats Up For Grabs
Abortion has been a legal medical procedure in the United States for 36 years — since Roe v. Wade in 1973.
I remember the day the Supreme Court ruled. I was in a car with my father. It was a sunny day and we were driving north on Court Street in Flint, Michigan near the University of Michigan campus. We heard the news on the radio. I was 20 years old.
We talked about the implications. The bottom line? If I got pregnant and I didn’t have the means to support or care for a child, I wouldn’t have to. If my birth control pills failed, I wouldn’t regret it for the rest of my life. If I (and some illusive future partner) made a mistake, I wouldn’t have to pay for it forever.
Imagine not having that choice. Imagine being forced to have a baby and to care for it — pray tell it would be healthy — until you died. What a horrible situation for the mother, the father and, more importantly, the innocent child.
Oh, and by the way, I bet every single one of us can think of a program or institution we would rather our tax dollars not go to. So since when are the anti-abortion people the only ones who get to decide where their money is or isn’t going to go?
