A Headline That Would Never Have Been on Fox During the Bush Years

I monitored Fox News’ alleged “business news” show, Your World w/Neil Cavuto, at the News Hounds’ blog, during the entire four years of George W. Bush’s second term. When the stock market went down, the news was either ignored, reported as an afterthought, or briefly mentioned in the context of a conversation about a different topic. When it when up, on the other hand, it lead the hour with lots of bells and whistles.
And as for the employment numbers? Obviously the financial crisis occurred at the end of Bush’s second term so things were different then but bad employment numbers were brushed under the rug. And I can assure you that I never, ever saw anything like this: Cavuto did not tie Bush to bad news. Period.

Yet another example of why Fox’s use of the “fair and balanced news” slogan should be prohibited. It’s false advertising.
