Every Single Republican Senator Votes No to Debating Health Care

November 21, 2009

UPDATE I & UPDATE II

The vote tonight in the Senate on “the health care bill” was a vote on moving the issue to the floor for debate.  All the Democrats voted yes.  All the Independents voted yes.  All the Republicans voted no.  Republicans don’t even want to TALK ABOUT THIS.

As an aside, Fox “News” is airing a “breaking news” chyron right now that hides that fact. It reads:  “Senate Democrats Get 60 Votes Needed to Advance Bill.”

UPDATE I:  George Voinovich (R-OH) did not cast a vote.  (Is he home sick?  Did his car break down?  Or is he a chicken?)

UPDATE II:  Voinovich?  The narcissistic SOB was partying:

If the first procedural vote is delayed until Saturday, Voinovich won’t be around Washington  to participate. He’s got an anniversary to observe — his 30th since being elected Cleveland’s mayor in 1979 — and he’s going to spend it with his old team.
