Thought for the Day
A friend sent me a cartoon this morning which I’d love to post but she didn’t include a link so I can’t put it up without giving credit where credit’s due, so all I can do is tell you what it said: “Honk if you love Jesus. Text while driving if you’d love to meet him.”
Be careful out there folks.
Jesse Ventura Says MSNBC Canceled His Show Because He Opposed the Iraq War
Remember “Jesse Ventura’s America,” the show Jesse Ventura had on MSNBC for about five minutes around the time the Iraq War began? If I recall correctly, it only lasted a few weeks. Anyway, last week Ventura said the show was canceled and he was fired because he opposed the Iraq war.
Tiger Woods’ Transgression
When you watch television all day and the biggest word you ever hear is “Afghanistan,” Tiger Woods’ use of the word transgression could tend to send people into a tizzy.
Alan Keyes Warns That Sarah Palin Not Conservative Enough
Uh oh — Alan Keyes Sounds Alarm Bells About Sarah Palin — she isn’t conservative enough for him — but I’ve gotta say, he does seem to recognize that she is more image than substance:
Nothing Sarah Palin has said or done supports the view that she is pro-life as a matter of justice, law and public policy. So far as I can tell, she is just a pro-choice politician who turned a laudable personal choice into a seductive, but false pro-life public image. All the choices and statements she has made in her public capacity support this conclusion. If I’m wrong, show me the facts and statements that indicate something beyond the “I’m personally pro-life” position so common among the so-called “pro-choice” promoters of “abortion rights”.
British Parliamentarian Concerned About “Fox-Style News”
The British Parliament is debating a “Digital Economy Bill” which concerns downloading digital content. During the debate today, Lord Mandelson acknowledged,
“Copyright infringement is the market’s way of telling us we need to find new business models.” And, without naming News Corp. he took a clear dig at James Murdoch: “They want to erode commitment to impartiality – to fill British airwaves with more Fox-style news.”
Thank goodness they’re aware of the dangers of “Fox-style news.” Hopefully they’ll nip News Corp. in the bud before what it calls “news” is as pervasive there as it is here.
Break Time
Cool pictures of a guy who paints himself into them…the pictures that is.
Why Aren’t We Hearing About This?
Another Right-Wing Domestic Terrorist, with 35 Pipe Bombs is Caught, and Our National Media Ignores it.
But you can be sure if he was a Muslim (what religion is he anyway?) or an anti-war hippie, they’d be all over it.
Tweet of the Day
I know it’s early but I don’t think anything will top this:
