GM Sells Parts of Saab to … China
General Motors has reached an agreement to sell off part of its struggling Saab division to China’s Beijing Auto (BAIC). The deal would see BAIC take control of Saab’s rights assets and tooling assets of the past 9-5 and 9-3 models in order to build those vehicles in China.

An unnamed Saab official quoted by the New York Times said that this sale, “would be good for Sweden, good for China and good for Saab.”
But good for the U.S.? No.
Rachel Maddow’s Makeup
Why is Rachel Maddow wearing so much makeup tonight? Frankly, and I love Rachel, she looks like a whore.
Who convinced her to do this and why did she agree?

Two More Advertisers Drop Glenn Beck
Two more advertisers have announced that they are going to stop buying ad time on Glenn Beck’s show: British Airways and PUIG Beauty, which includes Carolina Herrera and Nina Ricci. That brings the total to 92.
Woohoo!
Follow Up on Sarah Palin’s WaPo Op-Ed re Climate Change
The Washington Post‘s Op-Ed Editor, Autumn Brewington sees absolutely nothing wrong with printing an op-ed full of lies. Stimulating discussion is what it’s all about, apparently.
I read somewhere a few weeks ago that the Washington Post can’t die soon enough.

Tiger Woods — No Longer a “Model of Focus and Discipline”
Probably the most interesting thing I’ve read since the Tiger Woods scandal broke:
For a sizeable segment of the American professional class, Woods was a model of focus and discipline that seemed worth following, not just on the golf course, but in their own careers. And it’s that image that this scandal has really demolished. People will remain, I assume, fascinated and compelled by what Woods does on the golf course. But the notion of him as a paragon of discipline and a model worth emulating off the course will, I think, become a thing of the past.
Citi Reaches a “Deal” to Repay TARP?
One of the big business news stories today is that Citigroup has reached a “deal” with the government to repay its TARP money.
This sounds so suspicious to me — why the need for a “deal?” Citi should just freakin’ repay what they were loaned at whatever interest rate it agreed to when it accepted the loan. You and I don’t borrow money and then make a deal as to how we’re going to repay it. We work out those terms before we borrow it.
I can’t wait hear more about the details of this.
