Democrats “Dropping Like Flies?”

Please “liberal media,” cut the crap.  A more accurate read is that Republicans are dropping like flies:

So, to review, Republican retirements outnumber Democratic retirements in the House, in the Senate, and among governors.

Rep. Peter King Says Obama Should Use the Word “Terrorism” More Often

Any wonder why George W. seemed to be so “tough on terrorism?”  He used the word terror or terrorism in almost every sentence.

Such is the recommendation from Peter King (D-NY) to President Obama.  (Words speak louder than actions in GOPland.)

‘I think one main thing would be to — just himself to use the word terrorism more often,’ said King, the ranking Republican on the Homeland Security Committee.

Attacked by Candidate Obama, Billy Tauzin is Now Obama’s Buddy

We were so played by Obama:

White House visitor logs dumped late in the week between Christmas and New Year’s Eve show that Billy Tauzin, the top lobbyist for the prescription drug industry and once a favorite target of Barack Obama, visited the White House at least 11 times in Obama’s first six months in office.

The White House’s open door for Tauzin, whom candidate Obama attacked as the embodiment of the revolving door and the corrupt collusion between politicians and industry, further dismantles the myth of Obama as the scourge of special interests. It also bolsters the conclusion that health care “reform” has become a boondoggle for the health industry, especially pharmaceutical companies.

During the presidential primary, in the spring of 2008, Obama ran a campaign ad aimed directly at Tauzin, chief executive officer of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America.  Obama tells a small gathering of seniors:

“The pharmaceutical industry wrote into the prescription drug plan that Medicare could not negotiate with drug companies. And you know what, the chairman of the committee who pushed the law through went to work for the pharmaceutical industry making $2 million a year. Imagine that. That’s an example of the same old game-playing in Washington. I don’t want to learn how to play the game better. I want to put an end to the game-playing.”

But Obama has played the game, and Tauzin was one of the first players he picked for his team.

2010 Census Includes “Negro” as Race

Talk about a government that is tone deaf:

Question No. 9, which asks Americans to state their race, lists “black, African Amer., or negro” as options. But how come there’s only one option for “white”? What if one self-identifies as Poindexter, Richie Cunningham, or Whitey McWhite White?

Congress approved the form more than a year ago, and “negro” has appeared on past forms. Census Bureau spokesman Jack Martin says it’s intended as a term of inclusion, telling the Daily News, “Many older African-Americans identified themselves that way, and many still do. Those who identify themselves as Negroes need to be included.” But TV producer Patrick Riley asks Grio, “If the census form authors are going to go so far as to include an the archaic term ‘Negro,’ why not put ‘Colored’ on there? Just in case someone hadn’t graduated from that word usage.”

Will Ed Schultz Run for the Senate?

As Hotline reported this morning, North Dakota state Representative Merle Boucher has asked radio and MSNBC host Ed Schultz to return to that state and run for the Senate.

Schultz appeared on MSNBC this morning and said essentially that he’s happy where he is but he’s flattered to have been asked.

I just listened to three hours of Schultz’s radio show.  Many people called in begging him to run.  He obviously loved listening to the accolades (he didn’t interrupt), but he didn’t budge in his stance.

We shall see.

Personally, I think he can do more good on the radio and television.

“New Democrats” Push to Weaken Wall Street Reform

These are the kinds of “Democrats” we’ve got to vote out of office:

A group of moderate Democrats [members of the "New Democrat Coalition"] held private meetings this fall with executives from Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan Chase, while in the midst of pushing successfully to water down landmark legislation designed to beef up regulation of the financial industry.

More From the “Liberal Media”

Geez, watching the morning “news” shows today you’d think the Democratic party was in a state of total collapse what with Chris Dodd (D-CT), Byron Dorgan (D-ND) and Colorado’s Democratic Governor, Bill Ritter all announcing they won’t seek re-election. But don’t forget  — as the “liberal media” seems to have — that six Republicans have announced that they aren’t going to run again either.
