Tweet of the Day
Full disclosure: it’s actually from yesterday, but it’s so good:
At the Food Bank
I’ve been at the food bank all day. I spent most of my time in the basement, sorting through canned goods — putting kidney beans in a bin, pork and beans in another, chili in another — so I was away from the client area. Still, I could hear the commotion upstairs and I knew we were busy.
It’s been cold and snowy here for the past week but today it’s sunny and warm (30º) so it’s as if people are coming out of hybernation.
We had some “treats” in stock, like laundry detergent and tooth brushes. It was a good day to come through.
George Stephanopoulos Allows Rudy Giuliani to Tell a Big, Huge Lie
This morning on Good Morning America, Rudy Giuliani said, “We had no domestic attacks under bush; we’ve had one under Obama.”
That, of course, it a big, huge lie. But Giuliani knows he won’t be challenged for telling a big huge lie. He knows that George Stephanopoulos won’t stand up and scream or burst into hysterical laughter. He knows the studio will be silent; that there will be no gasps from the crew. He knows he’ll be warmly thanked for “coming on” and that he’ll be invited back.
That’s how broken our media is.
