Scott Brown Auctions His Daughters Off During Acceptance Speech
I’m watching Scott Browns’ acceptance “victory” speech on Fox.
His wife’s body language speaks to their lack of closeness. His two daughters are dressed like hookers and when he said that they were both available, well, who auctions their daughters off on national television?
My gut feeling is that the guy is so, so, arrogant that he’s going to implode, like, tomorrow.
I’ll post video ASAP.
So Sorry Ted
Martha Coakley is going to lose in Massachusetts tonight.
All I can say at this point is that the Democratic machine — so out of touch – fell down on the job, just like it has in so many ways in the last year, as in not pushing President Obama to keep the promises he won on.
I’m holding my breath, wondering what they’ll learn from this.
I pray they won’t “move to the center.” That would be suicide.
I am so ashamed that we lost Ted’s seat.
Apologies to Vicki.

We. Shall. See.
Bill Gates on Twitter
Bill Gates logged on to Twitter and sent his first tweet five hours ago and he already has 45,000+ followers. Amazing.
Is U.S. Aid to Haiti Disguising a U.S. Occupation of the Country?
Food for thought:
– January 17: Hugo Chavez says U.S. occupying Haiti in name of aid.
– January 18: French official accuses the U.S. of occupying Haiti as troops flood in.
– January 19: The number of U.S. troops will double to 10,000 over the next few weeks.
U.N. Troops Fire Rubber Bullets at Haitians
Check out this video from CBS News. It shows U.N. troops in Haiti shooting rubber bullets at people who are walking in front of them. From what I can tell, it’s totally unjustified. There is no mob and nobody is threatening them.
The poor Haitians. As if they don’t have enough to deal with, now they have to contend with hot-headed, macho 20-somethings with guns.
Donny Deutsch is the Male Equivalent of a Dumb Blond
Who is Donny Deutsch and where did he come from? (I could go to Wikipedia and find out but I’m too lazy.) He is the dumbest guy on television next to Willie Geist, confirmed by this little interchange Deutsch had with Peggy Noonan and Mike Barnicle on Morning Joe today. A snippet:
Just when I’m trying to stay focused on the issues behind Massachusetts Republican Scott Brown’s likely victory over Attorney General Martha Coakley in today’s race to succeed Sen. Ted Kennedy, Donny Deutsch, Mike Barnicle and Peggy Noonan showed up to remind me of the ugly intangibles behind the race. On “Morning Joe” this morning they chatted about one of Brown’s primary assets: In Noonan’s words, Brown “looks like an American.”
Fox News Can’t Stand The Heat — Gets Out of the Kitchen
I don’t understand how there can be any doubt whatsoever that Faux News is the face of the GOP, but there is (call it denial?) so I’ll keep putting up posts that point to the heart of that very issue: Carl Cameron Gets Chummy with Brown Supporters, Ducks Question of Fox News’ Ethics.
Wingers — Desperate to Find Fraud in MA — Are Making Stuff Up
From Ben at Politico:
The group Americans for Limited Government, a conservative D.C. outfit funded by the libertarian real estate magnate Howie Rich, has dispatched several videographers to Massachusetts to “watchdog” potential fraud, and is blasting out reports today.
The group’s work, so far, really embodies the contemporary, partisan notion of the “watchdog,” which describes a class of organizations funded to discover what they already, unshakeably, believe to be true. For Media Matters, that’s pervasive conservative media bias. For ALG, it’s fraud.
And so the group is circulating the video above under the heading, “Report of potential fraud in Lawrence, MA.”
In the video, a young woman reports seeing a voter whose name isn’t on the rolls being told to cast a provisional ballot. It has all the atmospherics of an actual crime report — nervous witness, shaky camera. But the content is, as far as I know, exactly what’s supposed to happen with voters whose names aren’t on the rolls.
Oh God. Here we go.
Break Time – Food
“The world’s most expensive ham” has gone on sale in London, according to retailer Selfridges.
The leg of Iberico ham, which costs £1,800 [$2,948.00], went on sale at the food hall in the retailer’s flagship store in Oxford Street, central London.
…
After being slaughtered their ham was salted and cured for three years, before going on sale in a hand-made wooden box wrapped in an apron made by a Spanish tailor.
“Connoisseurs will appreciate the melt-in-the-mouth texture of this truly amazing Spanish ham,” said Selfridges fresh food Buyer Andrew Cavanna.
…
“Every single gram will be savoured as one of life’s incredible gourmet luxuries.”
I love ham.
Republicans Put Politics Above All Else — Including National Security
This from Foreign Policy magazine:
But President Barack Obama’s first year has brought an unusual number of holds, and on unusually prominent positions. One year into the Bush administration, there were 70 appointees awaiting confirmation. One year into the Obama administration, there are 177. And dozens of those holds are directly affecting the agencies responsible for the United States’ security and foreign policy, amid two wars and an amped-up terrorism threat.
So, if you’re in Massachusetts, run out and vote for Scott Brown.

Scott Brown, Mr. “Grass Roots”?
If Scott Brown is such a maverick; such a grass roots, groundswellie kind of candidate, why does he have to hire workers from a temp employment agency to staff his get-out-the-vote effort? Think, fake “volunteers.”
Back At Ya Michael Steele
GOP Chairman Michael Steele said today that,
he expects majority Democrats in the U.S. Senate to quickly seat Brown, if he wins, and said that any delaying tactics would be “unseemly.”
“Unseemly?” Yo, Michael, how ’bout the delay game your party played in Minnesota for seven months after the Franken/Coleman vote? Heh?
Let the Games Begin
There’s ACORN’s alleged shenanigans and then there’s the Republican party:
A software engineer in Cambridge says he was handed a fishy ballot at the polling station in a local firehouse — it already had the bubble next to Scott Brown’s name filled in.
