Joseph Andrew Stack As Hero

Check out the new Facebook page about IRS airplane bomber and domestic terrorist, Joseph Andrew Stack.  I read through some of the comments.  My fave:

If what Stack did is an “act of patriotism,” watch out.

Tweet of the Day

From Jay Marvin:

(President Obama attended a fundraiser in Denver today to raise funds for Senator Michael Bennet, who was appointed by the Democratic machine Governor Bill Ritter to fill the seat vacated by Senator Ken Salazar who became Secretary of the Interior early in Obama’s administration.  The very popular Colorado Democrat, Andrew Romanoff, is challenging Bennet in a primary contest.  Many Democrats are furious at Obama for endorsing one candidate over another, before the primary process plays out.  I.e., it’s fine if Obama endorses a candidate in the general election, but he should stay out of it until Colorado Democrats decide who that person is vis-a-vis the primary process.)

Will Sarah Palin Congratulate Joseph Stack?

Less than two weeks ago, at the Tea Party Convention in Nashville, Sarah Palin said, “I believe in this movement…America is ready for another revolution.”

Joseph Stack was a member of the Austin Tea Party.  Will Sarah Palin congratulate him posthumously as a warrior in that “revolution?”  After all, he was trying to take down the IRS, and all we hear from the right and from Tea Partiers is that government is broken, government is broken.  So, he’s a hero, heh?

UPDATE:  This information is apparently false — that Stack was a member of the Austin Tea Party.   Sorry.  Rumors were flying that day and I didn’t wait long enough for things to settle down and to confirm this (via two or three sources) before putting it up.

Joseph Stack — Austin Pilot Who Crashed into Building — a Tea Party Member

Both CNN and the BBC are reporting that Joseph Stack, the furious man who crashed his airplane into an office building in Austin, Texas today was a member of the Austin Tea Party.

Palin, et al.:  You’re playing with fire with some of your rhetoric.

UPDATE:  @10:20 p.m. ET:  I’m hearing now that this may not be true — that CNN and the BBC reported that Stack was a member of the Austin Tea Party.

More to come.

Venezuelan Luger Warned in November That Whistler Track Was Unsafe

Athlete Had Filed Warnings About Luge Track.

The article is actually very interesting.  It talks about the behind-the-scenes favoritism that goes on in advance of the Olympics.

Austin Plane Crash Wasn’t an Act of Terrorism?

If Joseph Stack deliberately crashed an airplane into an Austin, Texas office building containing an IRS office, and he left a suicide note bashing the IRS, I call that domestic terrorism.  But from what I’m hearing on the tube, “officials” are saying it wasn’t terrorism.

Why do we refuse to call acts such as this terrorism?  Oh, that’s right.  Only Muslims commit terrorism and people whose last name is Abdulla.

CPAC Conference Doesn’t Disappoint

The Conservative Political Action Committee’s annual meeting never, ever disappoints.  After just a few hours we have Mario Rubio blasting Obama for using a teleprompter — while he was using a teleprompter — and now we have Jason Mattera of the Young America’s Foundation saying Obama’s “notion of freedom” is “snorting cocaine.”

Oy.  Oy, oy, oy.

Major Hypocrisy Alert

I don’t get how these guys can do something like this with a straight face:  Florida senate candidate and Tea Party fave, Marco Rubio, slams Obama’s use of a teleprompter while standing in front of a teleprompter.  And not only that, is this all they got?

Homeland Security Nominee Sentenced to 4-Year Prison Term

Ah yes, Bernie Kerik, Neal Cavuto’s go-to guy for all things terror, and the man Rudy Giuliani nominated to head the Department of Homeland Security, has been sentenced to a 4-year prison term:

Indeed, among the felonies he pleaded guilty to was lying to federal officials during the vetting process for the Homeland Security position.

He also pleaded guilty to were false tax filings and corruption charges for accepting apartment renovations from a contractor who was seeking to do work for New York City at the time Kerik was an official.

Sounds like the perfect person to watch over our homeland security, heh?

Live Blogging CPAC

Media Matters is live blogging the Conservative Political Action Committee (CPAC)  meeting in D.C. in case you’re interested.  If this is any indication, we’re gonna see some crazy stuff.  This crowd never disappoints.
