My Heart Goes Out to Marie Osmond and Her Family

Marie Osmond’s 18 year old son, Michael Blosil, killed himself last night by jumping from his Los Angeles apartment building.  He left a suicide note saying he “intended to kill himself due to a long battle with depression.”

My brother Eric killed himself (via a hose from the exhaust pipe of his car to the passenger compartment) in February of 1988.  He suffered, and I mean suffered, from depression from the time he was roughly 15-years-old.

It’s a long story, as I’m sure Michael’s is, but suffice it to say Marie, you will never get over this but a time will come when you won’t spend all day in the room of pain and grief you’re in now.  Yes, you’ll go in there and sit for a while but you’ll be able to close the door and go out into the sun too.
