Oh Boy — Huge Potential For This to Get Totally Out of Control

I’d stay away from Bossier Parish, Louisiana if I were you:
Sheriff Larry Deen has announced a plan to arm volunteers with shotguns, riot shields, batons, and a .50-caliber machine gun mounted on a “war wagon,” and has begun training them in “hand-to-hand combat” and other techniques, as part of a program to provide security in the event of a terrorist attack or civic unrest.
I bet everyone but white males and females in that parish is scared to death. The potential for this to get out of control is huge. I can easily imagine a scenario in which a “deputy,” paranoid and pumped with a sense of power, misinterprets a relatively innocent situation and blows someone away without giving it a second though — judge, juror and executioner.
This is crazy. And dangerous.
