Obama Gets Passionate

President Obama held a news conference this afternoon during which he talked and answered questions about the “compromise” deal he struck with Republicans on extending Bush’s tax cuts for the rich. Man, was he passionate. Notice how he lights up when he’s scolding the left but notice too how we don’t see that when he’s talking about his “Republican friends?” And what’s with scolding the left for expecting him to keep his campaign promise of doing away with the tax cuts for the rich while simultaneously caving to Republicans who hold their ground?
He also said we are going to have to make some “hard choices” in terms of what we cut from the budget over the next two years. I smell a rat there because now we have to pay for tax cuts to the rich so, what? We’ll have to cut something or another than affects us small people while the rich revel in their unpaid-for tax cuts?
Oh, and my favorite line was when he said he was “sympathetic” to those who wanted a fight, and he promised to do so — in two years (when this issue comes up again). Guess we’re just supposed to trust him, never mind fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.

Bah, this was check and checkmate. Who’s going to come out and campaign and contribute in 2012? Compromise this, Mr. Obama. Where are the Democratic LEADERS?
