Say It Ain't So Already

“At 11am this morning, a group of unemployed and underemployed workers from the Kenosha area staged a protest in front of Paul Ryan’s office demanding to meet with Ryan about the lack of good jobs in the area. Most of these folks sent letters 2 weeks ago with the same demand, and have either received no response or an automated response. Follow up calls have not been returned.

At 11:30am, a delegation of unemployed and underemployed workers entered Ryan’s office and made the demand to meet. When they were told that Ryan would not be meeting with them, they decided to occupy the office until Ryan appeared, or until they were arrested.

These are courageous individuals who have never done anything like this is their lives. Now they are putting it on the line for themselves, their families, and are standing up for unemployed people throughout the state and the nation.

We are expecting that when the office closes at 4:30pm today, the police may be called in.

We need as many people as possible to come NOW to rally to support these courageous folks. Please do everything you can to come show your support, and tell anyone you know that lives in the area to come on down!
