Former “Statesman” Jon Huntsman (Now Lacky) to Endorse Romney
It looks like Republicans are set to rally around Romney, the least bad of the worst of the awful, or something like that:
Huntsman to Endorse Romney
This would be Jon Huntsman on January 10 — January 10! — FIVE days ago:
Huntsman: Romney Can’t be Trusted
VAN SUSTEREN: What is the biggest difference – if someone lines you up next to Governor Romney, you’re both former governors, what is the biggest difference between the two of you if someone’s trying to decide whether to vote for you or Governor Romney?
[...]
VAN SUSTEREN: Do you think he’s not trustworthy?
HUNTSMAN: I don’t think he’s made the case to the American people.
VAN SUSTEREN: But do you think he’s not trustworthy?
HUNTSMAN: He hasn’t made the case to the American people.
VAN SUSTEREN: Has he made it to you?
HUNTSMAN: Not convincingly. He’s a good father, he’s a good family man, I respect him, he’s a decent person. But he has not made an effective case for trust in his campaign.
So, Huntsman’s for Romney even though Romney hasn’t made an “effective case for trust in his campaign?” Gee. Remember when the “liberal media” referred to Huntsman as a “statesman?” Tonight he’s a GOP lacky.
Huntsman Quits — Too Smart for the GOP

Huntsman Says He’s Quitting G.O.P. Race
Poor guy. Republicans want their candidates to be crazy but not downright INSANE:
Welcome to Another Week of Crazy
Welcome to another week of crazy. This headline kicks it off: Republican Sponsor Of Bill To Require Drug Testing For Georgia Welfare Recipients Arrested For DUI.
Got that? A holier than thou Republican gets busted for the very thing he accuses others of doing:
A Georgia Republican [Rep. Kip Smith] who wants all welfare recipients subject to drug tests failed one himself after he ran a red light on Friday morning.
[...]
Smith told the officer he’d had the beer 45 minutes earlier, and the officer asked him to blow into a hand-held “intoximeter”. The officer said the lawmaker refused, stating he would prefer to go to a clinic or the hospital to get tested.
The officer said Smith finally agreed to blow into the device. The report stated that Smith blew a .091., which is above the legal limit of .08.
Smith is a sponsor of Georgia House Bill 464, which would “require random drug testing” for citizens on public assistance.
I’m thinking Kip Smith should concentrate on random drug testing himself.
When Corporations Own Politicians
This is what happens when corporations own candidates and politicians:
WASHINGTON — At a town-hall-style meeting in New Hampshire last month, listeners pressed Mitt Romney on the soaring cost of higher education. His solution: students should consider for-profit colleges like the little-known Full Sail University in Florida.
A week later in Iowa, Mr. Romney offered another unsolicited endorsement for “a place in Florida called Full Sail University.” By increasing competition, for-profit institutions like Full Sail, which focuses on the entertainment field, “hold down the cost of education” and help students get jobs without saddling them with excessive debt, he said.
Mr. Romney did not mention the cost of tuition at Full Sail, which runs more than $80,000, for example, for a 21-month program in “video game art.”
Nor did he mention its spotty graduation rate. Or, for that matter, that its chief executive, Bill Heavener, is a major campaign donor and a co-chairman of his state fund-raising team in Florida.
It should be a requirement that candidates and elected officials disclose their ties to entities they promote, at the same time they promote them. Yeah, I know those ties can be discovered via FEC filings, but tell me how many people at the two events mentioned above went hom and looked up “Bill Heavener” or “Full Sail University” to see if they had any connection to Romney?
Rupert Murdoch: “Just Been to Google Search”
This would be Rupert Murdoch tweeting tonight. You know, the guy who owned MySpace and who rules the world via Fox:
“Just been to google [sic] search?”
Really? REALLY?
Reminds me of the Internet is a “series of tubes:”
