The Media Map: Who’s Reading What And Where

We worked with Bitly and its data on millions of Web clicks to find the most influential media outlets in the country. This map shows which news sources are read and shared at above-average levels by state.

Go to the map here.  Roll over the various news outlets to the right (not shown in this screenshot) to see where they are the most popular.

A couple surprising things:  (1) Fox isn’t as pervasive as I would have though, particularly in the south, and (2) Idaho is a big MSNBC state?  Interesting.
