About Obama Invoking Executive Privilege

OMG. The righties are going nuts over the faux controversy over Fast and Furious (a program begun during the Bush administration in 2006 and then called Operation Wide Receiver) because hello, don’t look now but it’s an election year. Woo hoo!
Anyway, they’re freaked that an uppity Obama invoked his executive privilege to stop an uppity Eric Holder from turning over documents, some of which are, by law, mandated to be kept secret (like grand jury testimony).
Meanwhile, this is at the top of the Drudge Report right now, a leader of the wingnut brigade:
Cute huh? Comparing Obama to Nixon for God’s sake as if executive privilege hasn’t been invoked since Watergate. Drudge knows his audience is stupid just like Fox does otherwise he wouldn’t try to pull this s–t. The fact is, Bill Clinton invoked executive privilege 14 times and George W. Bush invoked it six times.
This is the first time Obama has used it.
Crazy goes mainstream.
