Baby Acorns

I love the look of acorns, the seed of oak trees. I don’t know why exactly. I like their shape and I guess I’m in love with the little “cap” at the top.
The mature acorn above is roughly the size of a quarter.
Here is a pair of baby acorns I found in the yard this afternoon. They fell off an oak tree my husband planted about 12 years ago. This is the first year the tree has produced “seeds.” I have no idea if they will mature into the likes of the one above — it might take two or three more years of producing babies before they mature — but I’ve never seen tiny little acorns like this before and well, I think darling. Thought I’d share:
