About/Contact

I began my professional life as a paralegal.  After corporate attorneys wore me down in the fight for We, the People (as was their goal), I obtained a Master Gardener degree and owned a professional gardening business with an emphasis on xeriscaping.

In early 2004 I was a researcher for Robert Greenwald’s documentary, Outfoxed:  Rupert Murdoch’s War on Journalism.  On the heels of that, I joined my fellow researchers and became a — “liberal bomb thrower” (h/t Bill O’Reilly) — at the News Hounds, monitoring David Asman, Linda Vester and, for four years, “business news” right wing propagandist, Neil Cavuto.

You might find me walking in the Rocky Mountains with my two English setters, in the garden or in the kitchen trying new Vietnamese or Thai recipes (mashed potatoes and gravy are good too, as is bacon!), or stocking shelves and being a “walker” at my local food bank.

Heartbeats “A Book of Wisdom” Ron J. Flemming reaches out into the darkness of the ages and touches our very hearts and souls with these delicious, golden nuggets… Highly controversial and moving, Heartbeats heats-up our universal e-motions. Yes folks, Marriage IS a promise between…

    ChrisH –

The comment problem has been fixed on today’s posts (and hopefully on all future posts). In order to allow comments on old posts, I have to manually open each one and change the settings. Which post did you want comment on? If you let me know, I’ll do what I need to do so you can.

I am a liberal. Always have been. I can understand your apprehension about the departure of Mr Moyers. I have him enjoyed him for years. However, let’s give Mr Meecham a chance. I enjoy watching and listening to him. (Never on Scarborourghs show though…ugh) I enjoyed his book, “American Lion”. Let’s give him a chance. In this world of black or white, there is always room for intelligent discourse.

I think you have a fascinating blog that touches on a lot of subjects. It is really well organized and clear. I agree with most of it. I am doing a blog on how CNN and Fox News cover the news. I would appreciate any comments that you can make on my blog to make it better.

There appears not to be a way to privately email you from here, sorry it will show up as a public post, do remove it once you read it and get back to me.
I must admit I am schocked to read you began as a paralegal.
I wish you had the intellectual honesty to cite your references and images.
You have a blurry cropped version of my copyright protected photograph of Matthew Shepard on your blog. Please be so kind as to use the whole uncropped version citing my copyright with the image, or be so kind as to remove it.
    Best, Gina van Hoof

I’m very sorry Gina. I have removed the photo. I don’t know why I didn’t give you credit — crediting photographers is something I totally believe in doing — so again, my apologies.

I have observed no reporting on Fox Bus. News concerning claims by some experts that for many recent months that gold & silver futures markets have suffered from market manipulation via large concetrated short positions held by a few large commercial investment banks and bullion banks. It would be very interesting if you were to invite Gary Gensler from CFTC to appear with Ted Butler who regularly claims that the CME is a criminal conspiracy and questions why the CFTC has taken 3 years to investigate this subject and produced no findings!

In 2003, the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) rejected a Canadian Cable Telecommunications Association (CCTA) application to bring Fox News to Canada because Fox News U.S. and Global Television were planning to create Fox News Canada, a combination of U.S. and Canadian news. However in 2004, after a Fox U.S. executive said there were no plans to create the combined channel, the CRTC approved an application to bring Fox News to Canada.[77]

Fox News Channel is currently offered by Access Communications, Bell TV, Cogeco, Eastlink, Manitoba Telecom Services, Rogers, SaskTel, Shaw Cable, Shaw Direct and Telus TV. A notable exception is Vidéotron, Canada’s third largest cable company, which has not added Fox News Channel to its lineup.

So glad I found you via My Sister’s Pantry reblogging the WF ricotta recall. I look forward to your blog and hope you will check me out. I’m a first-time gardener, though a food activist and environmentalist for decades. I created a web series to document my progress, and hopefully entertain in the process, LATE BLOOMER. Best, wishes, – Kaye
