Today we learned, via Der-Spiegel, that the United States’ “National Security Agency” has gone so far as to intercept computers ordered online and to insert “backdoor” bugging devices in them, unbeknownst to to the recipients.

Meanwhile, per PopSci, this spy tool is out there too.  Imagine it hovering 30 feet above your living room window watching everything you do.  Given Der-Spiegel‘s revelations, I wouldn’t be surprised:

In a world of delicate, experimental nano-drones, the Black Hornet is the first operational system deployed. A hand-launched observation drone, it can resist gusting winds, fly for 25 minutes, and travel nearly a mile from its operator. The autopilot can follow GPS coordinates to conduct a preplanned patrol or simply hover and stare. All in a drone that weighs less than 0.6 ounces.
