Tiny Houses: The Master Bath is Sooo Small!

I’m making dinner and watching HGTV’s “House Hunters.”  An early-30-something couple is searching for a home in Arlington, Virginia (south of Washington, D.C.).  Their budget is $650,000 (!).

They’ve looked at three homes.  The wife wants the “perfect” kitchen of course; granite counter tops, an island, a double oven and stainless steel appliances.

The husband wants a “man cave” which he gets.  One of the last shots is of him watching a football game in front of a wall of three flat screen TVs, one of which is 80-some inches.

At one point during the search the wife complains that one of the master bathrooms is “sooo small.”  I don’t claim to have any expertise on square footage but it had a sink with a five foot-ish long countertop, a shower, a tub and a commode.  But again, it was “sooo small.”

“Sooo small? ”  Small is good. Here’s our master bathroom. It’s in the 60’s style.  Our house was built in 1963 and somehow people managed — way back then — to live without all the accoutrement we’re lead to believe we “need” now.

Cute huh?  It takes 15 minutes to clean and we don’t need anything more.

My bathroom is tiny but I have my deep clawfoot tub. No showers please, just my pond.

    Your pond. That’s hilarious.
