My Worst Nightmare Comes True

In 2009 I posted pictures of glass-floored balconies on the 103rd floor of Chicago’s Willis Tower and I asked if you’d be willing to step out onto one of them.  I said I wouldn’t because I’d be afraid that what happened last night would happen to me.  Yikes:

A family visiting from California got the scare of their life on Wednesday during a visit to Chicago’s Willis Tower Skydeck, the 103rd floor tourist attraction atop the city’s tallest building.

One of the four glass enclosures jutting out from the side of the building, collectively called The Ledge, cracked and shattered while Alejandro Garibay, his brother and two cousins were on it.

Oh man.  I’m almost shaking just reading about it.
